I don't know if you guys remember, but a long while ago, I blogged about Tyler the Creator. (I blogged about Earl Sweatshirt too, but he's really irrelevant to this post). Anyway, Goblin was leaked recently, so you know I've got to blog it! I know it's wrong, as a fan, to dl it illegally, but.. I fully intend on buying it. I've heard it's being released as vinyl as well. That'd definitely be something I'd be interested in. Personally, I loved Goblin. A lot of people said things like: "he's trying too hard", "the beats all sound the same", "wahwahwah". I thought it was awesome.

My personal faves would have to be "Goblin", "She", and "Nightmare".

Rihanna for Rolling Stone

I'm so happy for Rihanna. The red-head superstar has worked so diligently and we've all watched her come into her own. She's finally got a Rolling Stone cover. While at the shoot, she also does a brief interview, answering some fan questions. She only answers one thoroughly, but I had to post it because her accent's adorable!

Young, fresh, and talented, one of North Carolina's greatest unsigned hypes— JK the Rapper took time to interview with Teenage Billionaire. It was magic. His music speaks to the young and giveafuckless. His sound is a rough blend of Jay-Z and (mixtape) Kid Cudi. His flow, his emotion and his passion for music are all factors in his plot to success. Through his music, you meet him. His loyal listeners know everything from his favorite color to his latest girlfriend. He has loyal fans throughout the piedmont triad, and his fanbase is constantly spreading. With his new ensemble of young talent (FANG), JK will be virtually unstoppable in the industry. He runs in the same social circles as other current hypes like VWilckers as well as SBM.

As you may, or may not be able to tell, I'm a loyal listener. I've been tuning in for about two years now. I listen to his music, because it reiks of emotion and tortured youth. I love the variety in his music as well. His beats make you want to do anything from sit in a dark room while reflecting on life, to jumping on your bed and screaming his lyrics. Below is a list of my top ten favorite songs! I like them all for different reasons. But, they're awesome, check them out.

Tyler the Creator x Supreme.

Tyler's finally recognized for his Supreme fanaticism. He's in the lookbook, ha. I love what he brings to pictures. It's like charisma mixed with awkwardness.

Green & Yellow! Get it IN. Super Bowl XLV.

              Like the other 99.0000000009% of the country, last night, surprisingly enough, I watch the super bowl. I also tweeted about it non-stop, because each & EVERY time you tweet with the hashtag "#superbowl", they add a football behind it. It was pretty awesome. Anyway, I enjoyed it pretty well. I like football, so it was smooth sailing. I guess I'll just blog on it start to finish. The start was, like any other super bowl's start, the anthem is sang. Christina Aguilera turned it OUT. She's such a talented vocalist. She looked gorgeous, too. That fitted black dress contrasts so vividly with her bleached-blonde hair, she looked stunning. Then, she gets shit from everybody for fucking up the lyrics. Like, she messed up an entire line. I'm thinking, you're American. Why don't you know the national anthem, accurately? But after all the press massacred her, she goes on to apoligize by saying, "I can only hope that everyone could feel my love for this country and the true spirit of its anthem came through." (Source: NY Post) It's cool though, we forgive you Christina.

               After the anthem, the game starts. During the first quarter of the game, I was wondering if the Steelers' flight was delayed or some shit, 'cause they weren't there. So, while they're on their way to the game, the Packers get off with this sweet ass touch-down catch! Then, Nick Collins does his THUG DIZZLE. Receives the ball from Big Ben, and protects the ball like it's baby Jesus. That put the Packers up 14-0.

The Steelers finally arrive at the game and get a 1st down in the 2nd quarter. They also take out the Packers #1 receiver and leave them shaking in their cleats, jk. They were kind of upset though. SO mad in fact, that they scored AGAIN.. I stopped watching for a while.. then it was halftime! The Black Eyed Peas performed with a special guest: SLASH! & Usher (usha, usha). It was amazing.

                I didn't tune back in until the 4th quarter. There was this commercial, I'm sure you saw it. Kim Kardashian is the new shape-ups girl. HA! Yes, it's true. It's HOT too. I almost wanted to buy a pair, but then, I realized that they were disgusting. Scariest 4 seconds of my life. But, here goes:

SEX SELLS.

                Other than that, I mean, the game was pretty cool. The Steelers came back, 23-28. I mean, the Packers were still winning, but it was a close game. Then, the Packers won. 31-25. Good game, guys.

FUCK Steve Harvey.

            Sooooo, I have to do it. So, here goes. So, probably about 3 weeks ago, I'm in the car with Kevin. Normally, he plays shit from his phone, and I just listen and accept it. This time was different. This time, in the car.. I was vibing, hardcore. I mean, head nodding and singing the outro choruses and shit. It was cool. I'm like, "WHO THE FUCK IS THIS?!!". Lol. And Kevin's all nonchalant like, "Oddfuture Wolfgang, this old-ass tape. You haven't heard it before?!" No mothafucka, I hadn't, but I'm SO happy I did. The group is entitled "Odd Future Wolf Gang", "OFWGKTA" for short, "Oddfuture for shorter", "DAMN this is a hot-ass beat!" for long. The two artists I'm gonna focus on tonight are Tyler the Creator, an 18-year-old producer rapper, and Earl Sweatshirt, a West-coast lyricist prodige. Together, the dynamic duo are unstoppable. They're like Slick Rick & Doug E. Fresh, except with a beat machine instead of hands, and music about rape and cannibalism, instead of girls and Gucci undies. And yes, I said rape & cannibalism. That's part of what makes their music so irresistible. Though their lyrics reek of anger, anguish, and agony, and their ad-libs include girls screaming, and "you gon' fuckin' love me, bitch", you still can't help but listen. It's kind of like a serious car crash. Even though there's blood and glass everywhere, you can't hope but stare into a scene full of despair, looking for signs of hope. I guess that's exactly what Earl & Tyler do for our generation, they offer hope to Generation Y's ascending musical mortality rate.

Facebook is a social utility that connects you with the people around you.

              Today, I watched The Social Network with my dad. It blew my mind. I mean, it really opened my mind to a lot of strategic business practices (clean/dirty), and really just portrayed a part of internet commerce I'd never thought to be present before. It also ventured into the world of human psychology and emotional dysfunction most possibly present in the minds of those who run our society. I mean, this movie totally made me re-think the world we live in (virtually), and the reasons that I do things I do. Blogging, for instance. Why? To show people how I feel. WRONG. I want people to know my intermost feelings, so I post reviews on Rihanna music videos and movies about the top social network in the world? NO. I do it to feel empowered. Blogging associates you with a feeling of prominence and significance. With every follower you gain, you feel as though someone out there is acknowledging your opinion as one worth listening to, reading, or whatever you'd like to call it. That's power. You speak, and people listen. You write, people read, phrase it how you'd like, people care about what you have to say. That movie really made me reconsider why the world is what it is, the basic strategy behind fame, as well as infamy, and the thin line between the two.

             Anyway, in addition to a story line that sticks with you for an hour afterwards, the mechanics of the movie were amazing. What really intrigued me, was the way they shot the movie to make it appeal to virtually, anyone. I mean, being a teenager in this day & age (I'm 16 for anyone who didn't know), of course I'm up to date with the way blogging works, and even some advanced coding, but my dad's not.. and it still appealed to him. I'm heavily interested in graphic composition, and this video was "allat", so to speak. The framing of the shots, the soundtrack, and the dialogue was intensely realistic.

               Oh, and one more thing that really impressed me about this movie was the way that they incooperated so many achetypes into one movie, and defied them SO very blantantly. The good guy turns out to be bad, but not really. He (the good guy), also finishes life WITHOUT getting the girl, or any girl for that matter. The bad guy (who is also the good guy), leaves litigation with billions, and still loses.

Way to go Mark Zuckerburg, you ROCK.

The moral of this movie was definitely, "To be successful, you have to give the world what no one else can, or what ANYBODY else can, FIRST."

Success and prosperity isn't about coming up with million-dollar ideas, it's about an exquisite execution of million dollar ideas, and adding YOUR flare, and turning it into a BILLION-DOLLAR idea. But, then again.. that's just what I got out of it. You can determine what you'd like when you watch it.

It's on DVD, I recommend you buy it. It's one for the books, to watch again & again. Redboxxing is cheating on this one.

Sadism & Masochism.

I know I'm late, but I don't care. This morning I finally went and looked at the new Rihanna video for S&M. It's fucking amazing! I mean the song is great in itself (as is the entire album), but I was surprised at how great the video was. Let's be honest, Rihanna's vids are never the bees knees, so to speak. After I watched it, I thought it was a Ray Kay product, but I was wrong. It's by Ms. Melina, whoever she is. I really liked it though. The funky-ass 'fits were just that, and the red hair is fucking hot, I don't care what anyone says. Anyway, normally, Rihanna gets fucked by the press. ALL the time. They take advantage of her like a rape victim at sunset. But, in this video, she fucking the press, with satire of things people say about her rollng over her, and a pin-up themed wardrobe. I loved it. I snagged some screen shots too. My personal fave is the shot in the pink, zebra room with the fish-eye lens.
