So, I hadn't posted in a few days. I haven't had time to upload pictures of my outfits, so today, I thought I'd upload pictures I took while I was walking around school with my friend.
Just so there's NO confusion, my friend, Najm, took this. He makes a big deal about it, so here ya go.
I took all of these with my 55-200mm VR lens, sooo... yeah.

SOMETHING PERSONAL.
I purposely made this guy fall in love with me, with no intentions of reciprocating. Now he's head over heels, and for whatever reason, I actually care. I feel terrible about it actually. It's been eating me alive since I decided 'd avoid him and I don't know what to do. He has such a kind heart, but he's not at all my type. However, I really enjoy his company, and love the conversations we have on the phone. I want him to stick around, but that'd be the worst case scenario (for his sanity). I'm almost lost, but at the moment, I'm texting him trying to explain why he can't be with me.
Meanwhile, James Morrison is the soundtrack to my life:
I'll just leave this here too.

"I'm trying to change to make the best for us
But I'm just the same, same as I ever was
Oh, and if you stay with me, honestly it's what I want
But if you stay with me I know I'll hurt you more"
I'll just leave this here too.

TWITTER WISDOM.
This is why I have a twitter. Not because I'm so bored and need something to do, but because the wise words that float around my timeline each day keep me moving. This is what I need to prevail. Positive reinforcement.

So, I just finished watching ATL (you know? the movie with T.I. and Lauren London?) and I realized, well remembered, how much I love the poem at the end. It gives me goosebumps every time I hear it so I figured I'd share it with you guys. I put my favorite lines in red.
Pleasure turns to the pain of lessons learned from the strain of the questions burned in my brain about whether love is humane in its touch
These thoughts are like salmon swimming upstream in the tears of your deceit
Fighting a current hurt that kills more than is created by the chaos of our intertwined emotions
Chaotic because the anchor of Eros’ arrow has been plucked from the vessel of my undying infatuation
Separation not as simple as the distance between us
My mind no longer possessed by the demons that had been the overseers of my enslavement to your lies
The seeds of these lies rooted so deeply they’ve cracked the foundation of what we once shared
Allowing the faith in us I had sealed inside to gush out like a river
Ripping the image of our future together from my thoughts as violently and as brutally as if it were a child being taken from its mothers arms
I’m left surrounded in darkness but I refuse to be swallowed by it
My loneliness like night air; invisible to the eye obvious to the touch, in its cold uncomfortable ness
Yet If I could do all over again I’d do it in the same skin I’m in
To lay down and let love die, just stay down and let love lie
No, no, no, no, not I
I’ll stay around and let love fly
Even though I’ve seen its darkest form; deceit
Nothing else could tastes this warm or feel this sweet
Big Rube

Orginazation Blog #1
I've decided that my blog has no foundation. I've decided to construct a rubric for each week. In March I submitted one post. Can you believe that?!! ONE measly post! My apologies go out to anyone that actually reads this thing. To make up for it, this week I'm going to post anything that occurred in March that wasn't posted. I hope that'll compensate!
However, that wasn't the purpose of this post. I was doing this to kind of think aloud and give myself stipulations. Kind of a requirement for each week. A posting promise from me to you. You know?
1) Self-fashion post: I'll post something with pictures produced by me. It'll probably be like a DIY or a Lookbook-type thing.
2) Music post: I'll post a review on a mixtape, artist promotions, features, or anything else that could relate to music.
3) Personal post: I'll update you on my current mental condition, at least once per week. If I don't have anything interesting to share, I'll scan in a page from my
4) Photography post: I'll check in with a series of pictures I've taken over the week.
I hope I can follow this because it would make my blog SOOO much better for you guys! If you have any ideas or something specific that you'd like me to blog about, shoot an e-mail to najiyyahphipps@aol.com

Bye.

Hey, it's been a while! Sorry :/ I'm a high school senior, with barely enough time to sleep— let alone blog! But I will try my best to get to you guys. Anyway, a couple days ago, I did some press work at the first Kendrick Lamar show EVER in North Carolina.. It was hosted by the good fellas at FSM, and I'd have to say that I am overly impressed! His stage presence, his lexicon, his soul. It truly made attending his show an experience. I loved it! He's so west coast, it's a shame. He was so down-to-earth though. However, that's neither here, nor there. I've got some pictures for you!

...And that's all for now. I'll probably post more later, but this is all you get for now :) As always, you can check out these (and more) at my Flickr. I hope you can see how dope that night was through the pictures. Btw, make sure to check out Kendrick Lamar (@Kendrick_Lamar), The Mecca of Rhymes of Flight School Music (@mecca336gnc), and Rich P (@RichP213). Make sure to go grab Kendrick's latest tape: Overly Dedicated. I'm thinking of posting a review of it myself, soon.
Byeee.
This picture can only be appreciated by photographers. I wrote my name on the bathroom mirror with lipstick (super clichéd), Nicki Minaj: Pink Friday, to be exact. The <3* is in focus, and I'm not. I love this.
Pretty self-explanitory— Teff the Don x Jia Jetson.

This is "The Mecca of Rhymes". @mecca336gnc
KevGneiss and GermSykes, SOUTH. Not established yet, but definitely on their way.
Cool shot of Mr Lamar. Definitely over-sharpened! (Everybody makes mistakes) I love the way the light barely touches his head/shoulder.
Another shot of Teff.
Flight School Music, turned it up and ooout.
I like the way I edited this one. At this part in the show, he was telling this funny story about how when he was like 6, his dad would come home drunk and warn him about all the hoes who wanted him to get him pregnant and all the guys that wanted to fuck him over.
I just kind of needed a blah picture.
Teff x KL x unfocused lights.
Check out my homie in the background.
Hornets authentic vintage.
Rich P x Kev
I love the way the bar at Greene St looks.
Rich P was dope on stage too.
His style was cute, his flow was dope, stage presence was alladat.
I like this edit too.
Tell me dude doesn't look like a butterfly.
...And that's all for now. I'll probably post more later, but this is all you get for now :) As always, you can check out these (and more) at my Flickr. Hey guys! I know it's been forever, but I'm back. I've been a busy bee with school, my future plans and all, but I'm back, and better than EVER. So, as you may (or may not) know, my bestest Malik Townsend (AKA MTown) is founding a clothing line, and we were looking for some models, so I'm running test shoots until he gets the goods to find two girls to model the line. I did one on Saturday, right? Well, I originally planned on two shoots. I was going to do a test shoot with Aliyah Bryant and a promotional shoot with FANG. It was gonna be an easy breezy Saturday, right? WRONG. Absolutely wrong. I ended up doing five shoots. Only two were test shoots. It was ridiculous. I was totally over-worked. But it was cool. I got the opportunity to show my gang some love, and do what I love at the same time. However, I filled up a whole 2GB memory card and then another 2GB of the 4GB card one of my models so conveniently had in her purse. I took a bajillion fa-fillion pictures. Here's a few. This is Aliyah "Ali" Bryant. She's a natural beauty. Her smile is dreamy.
When I asked her to jump, she was like "O_o?!". It was the funniest thing I'd ever seen. She jumped so cute though.
This was her favorite.
My parents both said she looks like a catalog model. You know, like for Target.com? I could see it.
There's a b/w on my Flickr of these ridiculous ass eyes. It's too intense.
I loved this one. It looks like she's jumping over the track.
Ugh! I love the innocence in her gaze. It's so cute.
She looks super Rihanna-y in this one. I love it.
And that's all folks! I loved this shoot. The next shoot I'll post will be Jerrya Harris. She's super dope. While Aliyah's are gorgeous and sweet, hers are like, bad-ass. Anyway, thanks for peeping in! I'll have updates all week, since I did 5 shoots. These are obviously not all of my pictures either. The others can be located on my Flickr, as always. Stay posted! Leave comments, add me as a contact, all of that! Thanks again for viewing, Buh-bye.
