Rihanna for Rolling Stone

I'm so happy for Rihanna. The red-head superstar has worked so diligently and we've all watched her come into her own. She's finally got a Rolling Stone cover. While at the shoot, she also does a brief interview, answering some fan questions. She only answers one thoroughly, but I had to post it because her accent's adorable!

Just dreamy.

Hey guys! I know it's been forever, but I'm back. I've been a busy bee with school, my future plans and all, but I'm back, and better than EVER. So, as you may (or may not) know, my bestest Malik Townsend (AKA MTown) is founding a clothing line, and we were looking for some models, so I'm running test shoots until he gets the goods to find two girls to model the line. I did one on Saturday, right? Well, I originally planned on two shoots. I was going to do a test shoot with Aliyah Bryant and a promotional shoot with FANG. It was gonna be an easy breezy Saturday, right? WRONG. Absolutely wrong. I ended up doing five shoots. Only two were test shoots. It was ridiculous. I was totally over-worked. But it was cool. I got the opportunity to show my gang some love, and do what I love at the same time. However, I filled up a whole 2GB memory card and then another 2GB of the 4GB card one of my models so conveniently had in her purse. I took a bajillion fa-fillion pictures. Here's a few. This is Aliyah "Ali" Bryant. She's a natural beauty. Her smile is dreamy.

When I asked her to jump, she was like "O_o?!". It was the funniest thing I'd ever seen. She jumped so cute though.

My parents both said she looks like a catalog model. You know, like for Target.com? I could see it.

The Sky is the Limit..

         Today, in my photography class, the craziest shit happened. I realized that my project on lighting and silhouettes is due tomorrow. So, I had a many freak-out because both of our DSLR's were checked out, and I was NOT turning in a point-and-shoot project. No way. Then, lo-and-behold, Naeema's like "Oh, Najiyyah, if you need a camera to use, I'd be happy to let you use mine! So I did.. it's a Nikon >:)) Oh my God. It was a D-200, and I fell the fuck in love. It's too amazing. My shots weren't the best I've ever done, but they definitely get my point across! So, yeah.. my model is Tyrone Hollaway, rapper-singer-modeller. He's pretty dope. We took these down the street from my school. I think they're pretty good.

But yeah, I'm learning to deal with natural light, and looooving it. I was supposed to do a shoot with J.K. the Rapper tomorrow, but I'm doubting it'll happen. Anyway, that's about it. Bye dudes. <3

All of the Lights..

         Hey! I know I said I was in a photography class, but I never went into detail. It's really simple though. Every week we're assigned a project based on different components of photography. The first week's was portraits. So, of course I took pictures of myself (and the fabulous Anna Stone); the second week's was candids. Those sucked. I mean, they were really good compared to a lot of people's in my class, but they sucked in my standards, but this week's is lighting. I let my friend Joe borrow my light set, so I haven't even been able to get around to doing any really good pictures. I'm pretty mad about that. But, it's Joe, so I can't get but so mad. Yesterday, he brought them back to school, but left the bulbs at home -___- But I'm not bitter. Anyway, yesterday, I played with a little bit of natural light. I shot Olivia & Camille. Olivia's the hippie-Pochahontas & Camille's the Audriana Lima prodige. They're both gorgeous though.

That last shot makes me tingle. They brought me to that spot & I was bitchin' out. There was mud & shit everywhere. I had on moccasins, it was pretty funny. But, I think the shots came out beautifully. Oh! but, I also messed with some studio lights.. with Camille. They look like friggin' senior pictures, lol. I couldn't get the light the way I wanted it. But, here's a few.
