The Indie Life Concert Series, April 24th

On April 24th, go check out Big K.R.I.T. and the the good fellas at Flight School Music in DC! They're known for a dope show.
I'd definitely be there if I didn't have to go to school *insert ghetto girl eye roll here* $20 dollar tickets are a steal, btw.

Shoutout to SMCity for putting on the show!

For tickets, visit The Indie Life @ Eventbrite.

Overly Dedicated: Kendrick Lamar

Hey, it's been a while! Sorry :/ I'm a high school senior, with barely enough time to sleep— let alone blog! But I will try my best to get to you guys. Anyway, a couple days ago, I did some press work at the first Kendrick Lamar show EVER in North Carolina.. It was hosted by the good fellas at FSM, and I'd have to say that I am overly impressed! His stage presence, his lexicon, his soul. It truly made attending his show an experience. I loved it! He's so west coast, it's a shame. He was so down-to-earth though. However, that's neither here, nor there. I've got some pictures for you!

This picture can only be appreciated by photographers. I wrote my name on the bathroom mirror with lipstick (super clichéd), Nicki Minaj: Pink Friday, to be exact. The <3* is in focus, and I'm not. I love this.

Pretty self-explanitory— Teff the Don x Jia Jetson.

This is "The Mecca of Rhymes". @mecca336gnc

KevGneiss and GermSykes, SOUTH. Not established yet, but definitely on their way.

Cool shot of Mr Lamar. Definitely over-sharpened! (Everybody makes mistakes) I love the way the light barely touches his head/shoulder.

Another shot of Teff.

Flight School Music, turned it up and ooout.

I like the way I edited this one. At this part in the show, he was telling this funny story about how when he was like 6, his dad would come home drunk and warn him about all the hoes who wanted him to get him pregnant and all the guys that wanted to fuck him over.

I just kind of needed a blah picture.

Teff x KL x unfocused lights.

Check out my homie in the background.

Hornets authentic vintage.

Rich P x Kev

I love the way the bar at Greene St looks.

Rich P was dope on stage too.

His style was cute, his flow was dope, stage presence was alladat.

I like this edit too.

Tell me dude doesn't look like a butterfly.

...And that's all for now. I'll probably post more later, but this is all you get for now :) As always, you can check out these (and more) at my Flickr. I hope you can see how dope that night was through the pictures. Btw, make sure to check out Kendrick Lamar (@Kendrick_Lamar), The Mecca of Rhymes of Flight School Music (@mecca336gnc), and Rich P (@RichP213). Make sure to go grab Kendrick's latest tape: Overly Dedicated. I'm thinking of posting a review of it myself, soon.

Byeee.

These Muh-fuckas Bouta Blow.

I'm friends with a lot of people who aspire to be famous rappers, singers, dancers, and everything else. One of my absolute bestests is Jabril Kenan, better known as J.K. the Rapper, one of N.C.'s unsigned hype's, associated with Spaced Out Ent. HIgh schoolers all around N.C. listen to his Kid Cudi meets Easy E-styled music. He's gained a lot of recognition and is learning the game well. All of his music is free. It's great too. He's definitely one-of-a-kind. He's just released the X6 Departure, which are six mixtapes that he's releasing in 6 weeks (one, each Friday), which were also really interesting. Another one of my faves are Malik Townsend, better known as MTown, or his alias Andy Bang. Malik is not only a musician, but the owner of the to-be clothing line, Gun Powder Clothing Co., and the President of Space Invaders, a team of creative high school kids. I'm a member of that. Lol.

Anyway, I'm gonna do full features on them later, but there's a showcase coming up, quite soon.. The Bouta Blow: NC Showcase. Both of them will be performing at Club Drink (328 Tate St, Greensboro, NC) on February 18th! In addition to these two amazing artists, there'll be performances by D.F.D.D., 2Chea (SBM's CEO), SBM, VWilickers (another one of my dears), Mr. Commercial, Young Dirt, Lil' Lady Carter, and many more! Come out and support! Ladies are free until 10PM, $5 to get in. Admits all ages. It'll definitely be a show worth seeing, I've seen them perform, and it's always a good-ass time. I'll be in the building all night, come see me :)

Enter your address to get directions to Club Drink:

I know it'd be dumb to blindly, or more accurately speaking, deafly, send you to a show and you haven't even heard the music! So, here's a couple helpful links:

Curren$y at Greesboro Festival Park.

So, Friday.. I was given the insanely AWESOME opp to go shoot a Curren$y concert, couldn't say no. Me and my partna Steff went out there and did our thugdizzle. My friend Rahdia came along, we had a great time, here are some meat-and-potatoe shots, just so you can get a feel for what was going on! :)

So, of course I was in the place lookin' all dimey and such, ha ha ha. I was trying to kick it cool, though I was spazzing on the inside.

Dia was right there with me, looking dimey as well. Peep her earrings, they're DOPE.

And you know Steff was backstage too, on her job. I swear that camera's attached to her face.

JK The Rapper was in the place as well, I love him ^_^ He's silly.

Caught a few opening acts before they went on..

And got most of the acts ON stage :)

My honeydip Tavist rocked the show for a mini..

Caught Steez Urkel, backstagin' it too :) That tee's to die for.

ANYWAY, after a thousand hours of opening acts and note-worthy graphic tee's.. Curren$y finally came. We exchanged a few words, and took pictures. He was really "relaxed", as you may imagine. Now, I've never seen him perform prior to this, so I wasn't sure on what exactly to expect, but it was phenomenal. His stage presence was so strong, and his die-hard fans were in the place! Here's some of his on-stage pictures.

We ended the night with a picture and a quick goodbye :) It was too much fun. I know you're probably wondering why there aren't 5 pages of pictures from the show. That is because I am only one person, but have several different sites that I have to display my work on.. So, with that said.. the rest of these pictures (along with several others) can be found at my Flickr.
